it has been quite awhile since my last update. first‚ happy new year. i hope 2006 is good to you. so‚ big news...the HEERNT album‚ "Locked In A Basement‚" is going to be released on RazDaz Recordz (Avishai Cohen's label) on May 23rd. it will be in stores throughout the states and we are currently working on international distrubution. or‚ even easier‚ just stop back here around that time and order it from this site! i am leaving this week for 3 weeks on the road with avishai in the us‚canada‚ and europe...it should be fun. check the shows page for details and come hang if you are in the area. also‚ be my friend! check out my myspace page. as always‚ thank you for reading‚ and please check back soon‚ i promise to update more often.

hello. the current issue of Modern Drummer magazine (november 2005 with ringo on the cover) features me in the 'update' section. you can read the article here. thanks to the guys at MD for including me. also‚ the HEERNT album "Locked In A Basement" is complete‚ but is on hold for now. we are figuring out what to do with it. please stay tuned for news on that. big thanks to our pal Tk for the new HEERNT pics. we will be playing at the c-note on oct 20th so please come out and hear what we've been up to. that's all for now‚ but things look good...and so do you.

HEERNT's debut album‚ "Locked In A Basement" is nearly done and i am very proud of the results so far. we have spent a lot of time in the studio these past 2 weeks‚ and it is proving to be a very intense and humbling process. i really am excited for the record to be done so you can hear it. if you would like a copy‚ please be in touch...it will be primarily available through this site or at gigs. at this point‚ the release date is scheduled for november 1st. other than HEERNT‚ i will be performing with avishai cohen both in europe and the US throughout september and october. please check the shows page for details.

HEERNT at the C-Note Monday May 16th at 9 pm! we will be performing ALL new music‚ so please come hang out and have fun. we will be recording our debut album in august of this year‚ and we need your help to shape the music before we enter the studio. i am home for a couple weeks‚ doing some hits around new york (please check the shows page)‚ and then i go to england for a week and israel for a week with avishai. the trio gigs with avishai have been really fun and the new record is being received really well everywhere we go. hope to see you at HEERNT‚ it's gonna be a special one.

i am just about to leave with avishai and sam to do 2 weeks in the states and canada‚ promoting the new recording we did entitled "at home". we celebrated it's release by playing at the blue note in new york last weekend and it was a blast. thanks to all who came out. upon return‚ i leave with the jazz mandolin project to do some dates in the northeast‚ so come hang if you are close. then‚ after a what should be a fun gig at nublu with jason lindner's new group‚ it's off to europe with avishai again to round out april. please check the shows page for details. as always‚ keep an eye out for HEERNT dates and listen to good music often.

well‚ it's 2005. happy new year. i rang in the new year with the jazz mandolin project at their new year's gig up in burlington‚ vt. in addition to percussion duties along side jon fishman on drums‚ i was onstage at midnight 'playing' aud lang syne on trombone. it was a fun night. there are a bunch of corrugation gigs in the next couple weeks‚ and then i leave for 3 weeks with jmp in the midwest.

hello. hello. hello. i'm back in the states after 7 weeks of beautiful music and laughs with avishai‚ sam‚ yosvany‚ and ray. thanks guys. HEERNT played last night and it felt great. we will be playing around new york in the coming weeks and also recording...i'll try to post more tracks. also‚ the corrugation is back in action. try to check the band‚ we have plans to make a record next year. finally‚ monday the 20th should be a fun night at the laila lounge. rick parker's ambient assault with sam on organ and 2 drummers...me and great friend dan weiss. that's it for now. please check the shows page for additional dates.

from 1999-2003‚ while at william paterson university‚ i had the opportunity to learn from‚ play with‚ and simply hang out with james williams on a regular basis. it is very sad to know that those opportunities are now impossible. thanks james for all your help and guidance.

i just returned from a month in europe with avishai cohen. it was an amazing trip. we were in italy‚ the UK‚ and spain. all the gigs were great‚ including some surprise guest appearances by branford marsalis‚ jeff ballard‚ and more. we also got to play with bobby mcferrin in valencia and ended the trip in madrid where i got to hang out with a percussion hero of mine‚ rubem dantas.
